You would need to score 90% on the final to raise your course grade from 80% to the 83% threshold for a B. If that feels achievable, you know exactly what to aim for. If not, adjust the target downward — enter 80% as the target to find what you need just to hold your current standing.
A result above 100% means reaching your target grade is mathematically impossible with just the final exam. This is not a calculator error — it means your current grade combined with the remaining exam weight cannot reach the target, no matter how well you do on the final.
Your options in that case are: lower your target grade to something achievable, ask your professor if any extra credit is available before the final, or focus on doing your best on the exam and accept the resulting grade. A result of 0% or below means you have already mathematically secured your target grade. You could score zero on the final and still hit your goal. That said, you should still take the exam — missing a final typically results in an automatic failing grade regardless of your current standing, unless your professor has an explicit policy otherwise.
